The idea

Most cocktail apps are recipe databases: a list of ingredients, a line of instructions, and a stock photo. That tells you how to make a drink but nothing about why it exists. World Cocktails treats each drink as something with a history — illustrated in a single consistent style, told with its own story, and tied to the source that first put it in writing.

Finding the right drink

Search by name or by whatever bottle is already open. Filter by base spirit, flavour profile, occasion or difficulty, or browse curated shelves — IBA classics, aperitivo hour, summer drinks, low and no alcohol.

Every recipe carries exact measures with instant ml/oz switching, batch scaling for guests, the method step by step, and notes on glassware, garnish and estimated strength.

Where every drink comes from

Each cocktail is traced to the book, bar or tradition that first recorded it, with an original note on that source and a way to tap through to everything else that came from the same place. You can browse by era too — the Golden Age, Prohibition, tiki, the post-war years, the craft revival.

Where the record is disputed, the app says so rather than picking a winner. Some drinks are simply older than the paper trail.

Working with what you have

My Bar shows what you can pour exactly and what you can reach by standing one thing in for another — and every substitution explains what changes, not just that it is allowed. It also ranks which bottles are worth buying next: two more and fourteen drinks open up.
